Role – Mystery Shopper

As a Mystery Shopper, you will pose as a customer and evaluate service across different touchpoints such as store staff interactions, product knowledge, cleanliness, wait times, and overall customer journey. You will document your experience in detailed reports and submit them according to agency guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit allocated stores, restaurants or service outlets as a “regular” customer.

  • Interact with staff, ask questions, make purchases (if required), and observe service behavior.

  • Complete reports or online questionnaires about your experience, covering specific criteria.

  • Submit feedback, photos, receipts or other required documentation accurately and on time.

  • Maintain confidentiality of the assignments — do not disclose your identity or the nature of your visit.

  • Follow agency guidelines strictly to ensure consistency and reliability of data collected.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.

  • Good written communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.

  • Reliable and punctual for visits; ability to follow structured instructions.

  • Familiarity with using a smartphone or digital tools (for report submission).

  • Ability to provide honest, objective feedback, even in challenging situations.

  • Flexible schedule: able to work during weekends, evenings or peak business hours, depending on assignments.

Salary & Market Insight

  • Mystery Shopper roles in Bahrain are usually paid per assignment, not a fixed monthly salary.

  • According to a Quality Assurance role listing, some evaluators are paid BHD 30–35 per day for their work.

  • For mystery shopping assignments via GWR Consulting, typical fees per visit range (per report) between 50–100 AED (depending on type of visit).

  • Payment may also cover the cost of a purchase (in “mystery shop with purchase” visits), within a pre-agreed limit.
