Role – Accountant
You will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks focusing on sales receipt processing, reconciliations, cash and cheque handling, credit notes, stock movements in SAP, and monthly VAT reporting. You’ll liaise closely with the sales team, business and logistics units to ensure financial accuracy and prompt payment collection.
Key Responsibilities
Review and reconcile daily receipt vouchers from sales teams, ensuring accuracy with pre-lists and cash/cheques collected.
Prepare and reconcile daily cash collection reports and submit to Head Office.
Reconcile customer statements with the accounting system and highlight discrepancies.
Review payment advice from customers, check and ensure required tax invoices / credit notes and supporting docs are submitted.
Issue credit notes on customer rebates, schemes or promotions after appropriate approvals.
Handle stock transfer notes, conversions, scrapping movements in SAP.
Prepare sales, AR and other reports as required by business users.
Manage purchase orders for logistic/procurement requests.
Assist internal/external stakeholders and support management with ad-hoc accounting tasks.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3-6 years of accounting experience in a corporate finance environment; FMCG experience is a plus.
Experience working with ERP systems—SAP FICO module preferred.
Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
Detail-oriented with strong numeric and reconciliation skills.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, liaise with multiple teams.
Salary & Market Insight
Typical accountant salaries in Oman’s Muscat for this level are in the range OMR 400-600/month, depending on industry and allowances.
Given the responsibilities and industry (FMCG), a competitive salary would be in the region of OMR 450-650/month plus standard benefits.
