Job Overview

Role – Facade Design Manager

As the Facade Design Manager, you will lead the facade design process from concept through technical development and construction documentation. You will manage & mentor a team of facade designers, coordinate with consultants, ensure compliance with local codes, specify appropriate materials & systems, optimize performance, and oversee quality control of all facade deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee design for facade systems including curtain wall, unitized glazing, ACP/aluminum panels, louvers, and cladding systems.

• Manage design development: conceptual proposals, detailed design, shop drawings, technical specifications, and mock-ups.

• Coordinate with architects, structural / civil / MEP engineers, contractors, fabricators, and consultants to ensure integrated and buildable designs.

• Review and approve all facade documentation (drawings, detail sections, BIM models, technical reports).

• Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, safety, sustainability, and performance requirements (thermal, acoustic, wind load, water tightness etc.).

• Stay up to date with facade materials, technologies, and innovations; recommend sustainable and efficient facade systems.

• Mentor and manage team members; establish design workflows / standards; support professional development.

• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources for the facade design scope; ensure delivery deadlines are met.

• Liaise with clients & stakeholders to present design concepts and updates, address feedback, and ensure client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 8-12+ years hands-on experience in facade design for large-scale or high complexity projects.

• At least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role within facade design or building envelope engineering.

• Proficiency in design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, BIM software; ability to work with structural / performance analysis tools.

• Strong understanding of facade systems, materials, fabrication & installation methods, and performance criteria.

• Knowledge of UAE and GCC building codes / regulations, and experience working on projects with local jurisdiction approvals.

• Excellent communication skills—able to articulate design intent to teams, clients, fabricators, and consultants.

• Detail-oriented, problem-solver, good at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
