Job Overview

Role – Senior Traffic Engineer

In this role, you’ll lead complex traffic engineering tasks from concept through delivery. You’ll work on traffic impact studies, analysis, ITS design, roadway/intersection design, modeling/simulation, stakeholder coordination, and ensure compliance with local regulations and RTA standards. You’ll also mentor junior engineers and contribute to Traf-Quest’s technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic impact assessments, transportation modelling, and analyses to guide infrastructure and ITS projects.

• Lead design of intersections, signal plans, signage, pavement marking, and traffic control devices.

• Use tools such as VISSIM, Synchro, SIDRA, VISUM, or equivalent to simulate traffic conditions and optimize flows.

• Oversee field investigations and traffic data collection (counts, surveys, safety audits).

• Prepare and review technical reports, presentations, and models, ensuring accuracy and alignment with RTA / Municipality guidelines.

• Manage and mentor junior staff, reviewing their deliverables, guiding best practices in traffic engineering.

• Engage with stakeholders (developers, government authorities, contractors) to secure approvals and align project deliverables.

• Maintain awareness of latest transportation engineering trends, ITS advancements, safety standards and regulatory updates.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field; Master’s is a plus.

• Minimum 4-9 years of experience in traffic engineering, transport planning, or ITS.

• Strong proficiency in traffic modelling/simulation and design software (e.g., VISSIM, Synchro, SIDRA, VISUM, GIS).

• Familiarity with Dubai RTA traffic regulations, manual guidelines and approval processes.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collision / safety audit skills.

• Strong communication skills — able to prepare reports, present to stakeholders, mentor team members.

• Professional demeanor, time management, ability to manage multiple projects.
